Extending the WAMLE Family

As we approach the end of the school year, even several years after I have left the classroom, my thoughts turn to school concerts, field days, and retirement parties. I must say that I miss the camaraderie of my teaching colleagues and the good times that always characterized our gatherings.

The good news is that WAMLE is still alive and well and providing an annual conference opportunity to middle school educators across the state. We all remember the energy and enthusiasm this annual event brought us during our teaching days. The conference has shifted to a fall format and capitalizes on the energy the start of the new year brings.

This is the fourth year that we are promoting an alumni reunion at the annual WAMLE conference. Last year those who attended had a great time catching up with old friends at dinner on the Thursday night of the conference. A good time was had by all! If each of us attended and brought someone they had not seen for a while, what a celebration that would be!

Make time to join us at the 23rd Wisconsin Association for Middle Level Education annual conference at Chula Vista Conference Center at the Wisconsin Dells on Thursday, October 13th and Friday, October 14th, 2011.  Overnight rooms are available at the conference rate (click here)…

When booking your room at
Chula Vista (855-388-4782), don't forget to mention you are with the WAMLE conference for the BEST room rate!  Our event number is A01955...that's A-ZERO- 1955.  Be sure to mention this number when registering!  Consider staying on for Friday and Saturday for the same low rate of $70 for a single or $92 for doubles and more!  Make the conference a family fall get-away at a reasonable price!

And this year, invite a new retiree to join you! Help them stay connected too.

Here is the schedule:
Thursday evening:

5:30pm            Cocktails in the bar

6:30pm            A specially negotiated price of  $15.95 for the Shore Landing Fish special

at the upscale Kaminski Brothers Chop House

8:00pm            Join the WAMLE conference participants for fun-filled karaoke and dancing in the Grand Ballroom (or a quiet after dinner drink in the bar!)

Friday morning:

11:40 am            Lunch with the WAMLE conference participants ($12 per person –click

                        for attached registration form.)

Come one – come all! Spouses, significant others, and friends are all most welcome.
